The Edison State women’s basketball team opened league play on Wednesday night at Columbus State Community College, defeating the Cougars 68-55.

Sarah Pothast (Wapakoneta HS) led the team in scoring with 21 points. Kailani Broyles (Massillon Washington HS) had 13 and Lauryn Gray (Piqua) had 12 points. Clair Schmitmeyer (Versailles) pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Friday, November 9 at 5:30 p.m., as they face Wright Patt in their home opener.

Charger Country Armed Forces Night
The Edison State Community College Athletic Department will recognize all members of the armed forces and civil servants during Charger Country Armed Forces Appreciation Night at the home basketball games on Friday, November 9 versus Wright Patt Air Force Base.
Past and present servicemen and women are invited to attend the games free of charge. The women's game begins at 5:30 p.m. and men's at 7:30 p.m. The Color Guard of the Veteran's Elite Tribute Squadron of Piqua will march during the national anthem prior to the women's game.
Edison State recognizes all members of the armed forces and civil servants as citizens and students, and is honored by of the level of diversity, experience, and academic excellence they bring to campus.
