For the third time in five weeks, Shaffer put together the top pitching performance of the week. In her latest award-worthy effort, the sophomore chewed up 17.1 innings across four appearances, including three starts and two complete game shutouts—ultimately going 3-0 with 13 strikeouts. She blanked league adversaries in back-to-back outings against Clark State and Owens to cap a week that saw eight total runs, five earned, on 15 hits and five walks.
DeLong picks up her second career weekly honor after doing so on March 28, 2022, as a freshman. The utility option, spending time at both catcher and second base this week, is riding a 12-game hitting streak that includes 13 hits during this week's 5-1 showing for the Lady Chargers. She batted .619 (13-21) for the week with a whopping 15 RBIs.
The Lady Chargers are currently 10-8 overall and 5-3 in the OCCAC.
