The Edison State Men's basketball team fell at home on Saturday to the nationally ranked Cuyahoga Community College 73- 51.
The Chargers, though outsized, held the Challengers of Cuyahoga to just 38 points at the intermission, a much better showing from their previous encounter in December.
"This is a heavily talented team that has scored over a 100 points on numerous occasions this year. I was proud of how our young men played defense today," commented Coach Hickman.
With the absence of 6'9" Dusty Poteet, the Chargers relinquished many of their opponents points by allowing 21 offensive rebounds.
"When we figure out how to keep our bigger opponents off the offensive boards we will return to our winning ways," added coach Hickman.
The Chargers are now 11-10 on the season. Dae'Shawn Jackson (Springfield HS) scored 13 points. Christopher Landrum, II (Troy Christian HS) provided the Chargers with 10 points. Hadith Tiggs (Wayne HS) had 9 points and Nick Thompson (Miami Valley Saints) added 8 points.
The Chargers will return to action on the road Tuesday, February 7th to take on OSU-Mansfield at 7:30 p.m.
