Trailing by one point at intermission, Edison State went back and forth during the first 10 minutes of play in the second half. But the Lakers went on a 12 to 2 run forcing another Edison State timeout at the 8:37 mark. The chargers mounted a run down the stretch and took the lead with 26 seconds remaining.
"I thought our young men showed a lot of heart tonight and did a heck of a job defensively on that last possession forcing an off balance 30 footer, but unfortunately, it went in," commented Coach Hickman.
The 6-4 Chargers were led this afternoon by Hadith Tiggs (Wayne) scoring 18 points. Christopher Landrum, II (Troy Christian) had 12 points and 5 assists, Dae'Shawn Jackson (Springfield) and Brian Hall (Adena) both added 10 points apiece. Hall also had a double-double by snatching 10 boards in the process.
