Edison State Men Win Home Opener
The Edison State Men’s Basketball team won their home opener and second game of the season by defeating Cedarville University JV by a score of 92–62.
The Edison State Men's Basketball team won their home opener and second game of the season by defeating Cedarville University JV by a score of 92–62.
The only time the chargers trailed in the game was at 1-0 as Cedarville scored the first point of the contest. The chargers took the lead on the next possession and never looked back. Edison State led at the half by a score of 46-25 going into the locker room.
"A lot of players are beginning to step up," coach Hickman said of his team. "Our injuries are forcing us to depend on our depth early. This adversity will hopefully help us in the long run."
Dae'Shawn Jackson of Springfield High School led tonight in the point column with 20, followed by DeAnthony Griffin with 18, Christopher Landrum, II from Troy Christian High School with 12, and Zach Ledbetter of Vandalia Butler High School with 11. In the assist category Christopher Landrum, II led the chargers with 5 while Brian Hall led in the rebound category with 7 boards.
Edison State will travel to University of Miami–Hamilton next Friday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. for their next game.
