OCCAC Baseball Postseason Awards Announced
Chargers Keith Olmo and Dustin Parsons have been named to All-OCCAC Team for 2017.
Recently finishing out their season with tournament action, two Edison State Community College baseball players have been named recipients of post-season awards from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) for the 2017 season.
Sophomore infielder Keith Olmo (Coral Glades HS/Coral Spring, Fla.) and freshman outfielder Dustin Parsons (Anderson HS/Cincinnati) have been named to the 2017 All-OCCAC Team.
For Olmo, this will be his second selection in two years. Olmo hit .372 in conference and .373 overall for the season.
"Keith has had an excellent career here at Edison State," said Head Coach Scott Jones. "He has been our most consistent performer over the past two seasons. He will be difficult to replace."
Parsons earned his first all-conference selection after hitting .375 in 18 conference game to lead all Edison State starters in batting average.
"Dustin is a quality player that still has some learning to do, which is exciting to the coaching staff to know that he will only get better," added Jones.
The men's baseball team finished 19-21 overall and 8-12 in their conference. The Chargers were defeated in game one of the Division II Baseball Sub-District Tournament.
