Justin McCulla was named Edison State's Director of Athletics on February 27, 2023. He also serves as the OCCAC Assistant Commissioner, OCCAC Men's Basketball Chair, NJCAA Region XII Assistant Men's Director and is a member of the NJCAA Sports Committees of DIII Football, DIII Men's Basketball, DIII Baseball, and Bowling. In 2024-2025, McCulla was honored as the Michael Rickard OCCAC Athletic Director of the Year.

Under his leadership, Edison State has celebrated two OCCAC Championships in 2025 (Women's Basketball and Softball) and two Coach of the Year honorees (Julia Brandewie-Volleyball and Miranda Huddle-Softball).

Before leading Edison State Athletic Department, McCulla held various roles in Student Affairs at both two and four year institutions. Outside of Higher Education, he officiated high school and college baseball and football until 2024.

McCulla earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration and a Master of Education from Urbana University, where he completed his four-year baseball career after transferring from Wittenberg Uniersity.

He resides in Saint Paris with his wife, Emily and their children.
