Pothast Named to NJCAA All-Region Team
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Edison State sophomore volleyball player Sarah Pothast (Wapakoneta, Ohio) to the Region XII Division II All-Region Team.
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Edison State Community College sophomore volleyball player Sarah Pothast (Wapakoneta, Ohio) to the Region XII Division II All-Region Team.
"Sarah has worked extremely hard this season, always giving 110-percent. She was definitely a player our team depended on, a player who always showed up ready to win," said Edison State Head Volleyball Coach Julia Brandewie.
The 6-foot-1-inch sophomore middle hitter had a total of 363 kills, 89 blocks, and was responsible for 453.5 total points during her first season of volleyball at Edison State.
Pothast also earned Player of the Week and First-Team All-Conference honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference during the 2019 volleyball season.
Pothast and the Lady Chargers ended their season with an appearance at the NJCAA Region XII District Tournament, making their overall record 13-18 and 8-8 in conference play.
During her freshman year at Edison State, Pothast also earned post-season awards from the OCCAC for her contribution to the women's basketball team as a two-sport performer.
