Pothast Earns OCCAC Player of the Week Honors
The OCCAC has named Edison State sophomore Sarah Pothast the NJCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for October 14-20, 2019.
The Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) has named Edison State Community College sophomore Sarah Pothast (Wapakoneta HS) the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for October 14-20, 2019. A first-time volleyball winner, Pothast is also a two-time honoree for women's basketball as a two-sport performer.
Pothast drilled 4.00 kills per set while digging 3.89 balls. She also sent back seven blocks (6s, 1a) for 4.83 points per set average. Pothast registered no less than 10 digs in all three contests and added double-digit kills in a pair for two double-doubles. She stepped up for 18 kills at a .325 attacking rate to go along with 14 digs and four blocks in a road sweep at Lorain County.
Pothast has earned 368.5 points, 292 kills, and 253 digs in her first season of volleyball at Edison State (11-16, 7-8 OCCAC).
