Bio

Brent New is beginning his third full year as Head Softball Coach at Edison State Community College but his first full spring season. Prior to Edison State, he coached 22 years as head softball coach at Houston High School. New won 359 games, picked up 10 Shelby County Athletic League Championships, won two district titles, and made an appearance in regional finals in 2016. New also coached the All-District Senior All-Star Game twice.  

Outside of coaching, New is an elementary teacher with Hardin-Houston Local School District. He resides in Sidney with his wife, Carie. Together they have four children, Kayla (husband Nathan), Rebekah, Peyton, and Ethan, as well as one grandson, Benjamin.
