As the women's basketball team wrapped up their regular season, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) named two Edison State Community College student-athletes recipients of post-season awards for the 2023–24 season.
The OCCAC named Allison Hughes, of Rockford, to the Second Team All-Conference. Hughes, a 6-foot-3-inch freshman forward, averaged 11.3 points per game and 14.4 rebounds per game in conference action.
"Allison had an amazing freshman year," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Tim McMahon. "She led us in scoring and rebounding and was the only player in our league to average a double-double. We expect her to have a great sophomore season."
Joining Hughes on the Second Team All-Conference is Paxton Hunley. The 5-foot-6-inch sophomore guard from Conover averaged 11.3 points per game, along with a total of 35 assists and 13 steals, in conference play.
"Paxton has been a fantastic leader the last two years on and off the court," McMahon said. "She will be greatly missed and will have a great future in anything she wants to do."
The Lady Chargers finished their season 19-8 overall and 8-4 in the conference.
