Gray Named OCCAC Player of the Week
The OCCAC has named Edison State sophomore Lauryn Gray the NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for November 12.
The Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) has named Edison State Community College sophomore Lauryn Gray (Piqua HS) the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 12.
Gray averaged a double-double (16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds) in two contests for the Chargers. She garnered 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in a road league win at Columbus State before coming back later in the week with 20 points, 12 boards, three assists and two steals versus the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Gray shot 45-percent (14-31) from the floor, including 3-for-7 from long range.
Gray is now averaging 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in her second season at Edison State (3-1, 1-0 OCCAC).
The Chargers will return to action at home on Wednesday, November 14 at 5:30 p.m. against the University of Rio Grande JV.
