Edison State evened things up at one in the top of the second inning. Maddie White hit a solo homer.
Wittenberg University pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Lauren Buelowsingled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Mary Britton pitched Wittenberg University to victory. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking one.
Alexis Romine took the loss for the Chargers. She went six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out two.
Edison State smacked one home run on the day. White went deep in the second inning.
The Lady Chargers had eight hits in the game. Wendy Hawk, Rayna Brownlee, and Alexis Romine each had multiple hits for Edison State. Hawk went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
Wittenberg University collected seven hits on the day. Buelow, Aubrie Stillings, and Curnutte all had multiple hits for Wittenberg University.
