The Chargers fired up the offense in the first inning, scoring one run when Maddie White doubled.
Edison State pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Maddie White doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, Tori Smith doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, and Adrianna Hicks tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Edison State scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Hallie Snyder, a home run by Adrianna Hicks, and a fielder's choice by Tori Smith.
Smith pitched Edison State to victory. She allowed six hits and three runs over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking zero. Snyder threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Katelyn Sadowski took the loss for Henry Ford College. She lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out one.
Edison State launched one home run on the day. Hicks had a homer in the sixth inning.
Edison State totaled 15 hits. Alexis Romine, White, Mackenzie Smith, Hicks, and Wendy Hawk each had multiple hits for Edison State. White and Romine each collected three hits to lead the Chargers.
Henry Ford College tallied seven hits. Kennedy Cornette and Amiyah Johnson all collected multiple hits for Henry Ford College. Henry Ford College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cornette had the most chances in the field with five.
