After the Chargers weathered a hot-shooting Owens coming out of the gate and trailing by 18 points, they managed to pull within 13 before the intermission. The second period saw the Chargers continuing to whittle the lead away and took the lead with just under 3 minutes to play. With 13 seconds remaining and the Chargers on top 68-66, the Express inbounded the ball from underneath their own basket and with 6 seconds in regulation evened the score at 68. A near missed Edison State attempt on the other end sent the game to overtime where the Chargers had to play without Darryl Robinson who had 17 points on the evening.
Darryl Robinson (Bowsher HS) and Romello Yaqub (Troy HS) led all scorers with 17 points apiece, while JaBryel Reed (Clark Montessori HS) and Hadith Tiggs (Huber Heights) added 12 and 10 points respectively.
Edison State moves to 15-9 on the year. The Chargers return to action next Saturday as they host Lakeland Community College at 3:00 p.m.
