Chargers Fall Short on the Road

The anticipated road battle in Columbus was just that as the Chargers could muster no more than a four-point lead at any time during the contest. The Cougars of Columbus State led by as much as 7 on three occasions as the lead changed hands several times.
"It was one of our toughest road battles this year. They exposed our impatience offensively and proved to be one of the best mid-range shooting teams I have seen in a while," said Coach Hickman.
The statistics from the stripe proved to be a huge stat as the Chargers connected only on 4 of 10 attempts from the line while the Cougars went 14 of 24.
Jalen Elliott (Toledo Bowsher HS) and Hadith Tiggs (Wayne HS) added 19 and 18 points respectively. Dakota Prichard (Spencerville HS) came off the bench and added 13 while Romello Yaqub (Troy HS) added 10 points and 7 assists for the evening. Caleb Maggard (Oak Hill HS) had a big night on the boards pulling down 9 of them.
Edison State moves to 7-1 on the season. Next up for the Chargers will be Lorain County Community College at home on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
