The Edison State Community College men’s basketball team began their 2017-18 campaign with a win over Mount Vernon Nazarene University 93-76.

"It was good to get the win, but at the same time Mount Vernon was able to expose many of our weaknesses," commented coach Hickman.
The Cougars came out shooting early with a barrage of 3s and were very successful kicking out off the drive. The game saw the Chargers pull away by 12-15 points on several occasions only to have the cougars fight back. In the end, the Chargers pushed ahead by 22 and collected a 17 point win after the dust settled.
Leading the team in scoring tonight was Jacob Rogan (Bellefontaine HS) with 18 points followed by Hadith Tiggs (Wayne HS) and Zach Ledbetter (Butler HS) with 16 points apiece.
The Chargers begin the season 1-0 and will travel to Rio Grande University on Sunday, November 5 to compete at 2:00 pm.
