Chargers Lose Close Match to Columbus State

The game saw 14 lead changes and 10 ties as the Chargers fought to defend their home floor from the visiting Cougars. In the end following a 9-0 run, and a 5 point lead by Edison State, their momentum was halted by a confusing play that led to the Cougars connecting on four consecutive free throws and possession. The Cougars were deadly from the free throw line this afternoon connecting on 19 of 24 attempts outscoring the Chargers by 9 from the stripe.
The Chargers are now 16-13 on the season. Dae'Shawn Jackson (Springfield HS) scored 22 points. Hadith Tiggs (Wayne HS) and Romello Yaqub (Troy HS) scored 20 points each.
The Chargers will finish out their regular season of play next Saturday as they host Sinclair Community College at 3:00 p.m. at home. All Edison State sophomores will be honored at half-time of the women's game, which starts at 1:00 p.m.
