Charger Baseball Sweeps OCCAC Weekly Awards
The OCCAC has named Cameron Davis and Marcus Johnson Position Player and Pitcher of the Week for March 5-11.
The Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) has named Edison State Community College freshman Cameron Davis (position player) and sophomore Marcus Johnson (pitcher) the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Baseball Players of the Week for March 5-11.
Cameron Davis – Baseball Position Player of the Week – batted .556 (5-9) with a home run, triple, double and three RBI in three games (two wins) for Edison State. He became very familiar with home plate as well, scoring a half dozen runs. Davis drove in a run and scored a pair in all three contests.
Marcus Johnson – Baseball Pitcher of the Week – tossed four shutout frames to earn the win in an 8-2 victory over OSU-Mansfield. He gave up a lone hit and two walks while fanning eight batters.
The Charger baseball team is 3-4 overall and will return to action on their home field Thursday, March 15 to face Lorain County Community College in a doubleheader, non-conference matchup.
