Nieves to Continue Baseball Career
Samuel Nieves, of Puerto Rico, has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at the Piedmont International University in North Carolina following his successful career at Edison State Community College.

"We are extremely happy for Sammy," said head baseball coach Scott Jones. "Sam is an excellent player and his versatility in the infield should serve him well at the next level."
In his time at Edison State, Nieves had a .519 batting average with 68 RBIs and a .857 fielding percentage.
Nieves will be the seventh player in the last two seasons to advance his baseball career beyond the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
"We wish Sammy the best of luck in his future endeavors," added Coach Jones.
While attending Piedmont International University, Olmo will continue working toward bachelor's degree.
The Piedmont International University Bruins compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
